On a peninsula to the south west of the continent Gramnad lies the Kingdom of Kanalland,
and located within that kingdom is the underpopulated Karotte Village.
Violet (alternatively 'Viorate' due to the Japanese spelling) lives there with her family.
When her parents leave the village, Violet refuses to join them.
Set to return in three years, Violet must prove to them she can successfully run an alchemy shop in town.

A remake was released for PSP, with the subtitle 'Memories of Ultramarine'.
