Alchemy in the land of Regallzine is scarce.
The remaining alchemists travel the world in search of lost recipes and artifacts.

One such alchemist is Klein Kielsing, who travels together with the wood mana, Popo.
One day, he is saved from a monster by Lita Blanchimont, a monster hunter known as a Galgazit.
They eventually come to work as Galgazits together in the town of Kavoc.
However, Klein is soon caught in a web of secrets and ancient alchemy that will lead him on a quest not only to save Lita, but the world.

Atelier Iris is the first title to be in a standard console RPG format, to have a male main character, and to be released in the West. The story takes place far into the future after Atelier Iris 2.

Official Synopsis (box):
In an age of peace and harmony, the power of evil is lurking in the shadows.
The descendants of the dying art of alchemy must rise to defend all that there is.
Together with the forces of Mana, you must decide the destiny of the entier world...
